Privacy Policy
What we collect. What we don't.
Last updated: August 15, 2026
What this covers
This site is a personal portfolio. It collects very little data, by design.
This policy applies to mrchrisallen.me and covers what gets collected when you visit, what happens when you use the contact form, and what your rights are. It applies to visitors from anywhere, including the European Union (GDPR), United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and California (CalOPPA).
The short version: Fathom Analytics handles traffic data. The contact form sends messages to my email. No cookies, no ad tracking, no third-party scripts that phone home.
What we collect
Fathom Analytics. This site uses Fathom to understand how pages are performing. Fathom records which pages were visited, the referring URL, browser and device type, and approximate country, derived from your IP address, which is anonymized and never stored. There is no way to identify you from this data. Fathom uses no cookies, no persistent identifiers, and is registered as a GDPR data processor. That is why there is no cookie banner on this site. This site also honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser has GPC enabled, Fathom Analytics will not load and no analytics data will be collected for your visit.
Contact form. When you use the contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent directly to me via email. That information is used only to respond to you. It is not stored in a database, shared with anyone, or used for anything else.
What is not collected. No cookies. No tracking pixels. No advertising networks. No payment information. Fonts are self-hosted, so your browser never contacts a third-party server just to render text.
Your rights
EU and UK residents (GDPR and UK GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data this site holds about you. You also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.
For analytics data: Fathom collects only anonymized aggregate statistics. There is no individual record to retrieve or delete. If you submitted a contact form and want that data removed, reach out via the use the contact page and I will take care of it promptly.
California residents (CalOPPA). You have the right to know what personal information this site collects, whether it is disclosed to third parties, and how it is used. The contact form collects your name and email address, used only to respond to your message. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.
If anything material changes in this policy, the last-updated date at the top of this page will reflect it.
Questions
If you have questions about this policy or want to request access to or deletion of your data, use the contact page. I will respond within a reasonable time, and within 30 days for formal GDPR or CalOPPA requests.
